January TLBD Advisory Committee UpdateTuscawilla Lighting and Beautification District Advisory CommitteeThe Tuscawilla Lighting and Beautification District Advisory Committee meets four times a year with the Winter Springs City manager Mr. Steven Richart. The meetings are held at city hall at 7 pm. Your board members are: Every resident of Winter Springs is welcome to attend and we would especially like to encourage Tuscawilla resident to be there. You are welcome to speak and bring your ideas to us. Remember this is your community, be a participant! Last year a new irrigation systems for Winter Springs Blvd and the common areas was approved by the board. There are many reasons for this change but the most important one is the age of the present system and the failure of the irrigation zones to work propertly. The board accepted the lowest of the three bids presented to us. Meanwhile, the replanting of the Winter Springs Blvd median continues. The Country Club has donated a portion of the money for the project but to date we have not received any funds. The section between Tuscawilla road and the Arrowhead has been completed. Next area to be done will be the one at the end of the boulevard on the East side going toward the bridge. We all think this is the area in most need of upgrades. For those of you wondering about the damage done by the hard freeze we have done an assessment but will not be able to do any cutting of the dead plants till the threat of any further freezes has ended sometime around March. The price of reclaimed water has gone up considerably. You are still allowed to water twice if you use reclaimed water but only one time a week if you are using city water. Remember odd number addresses on Saturday and even number addresses on Sunday. There is a new flag pole being installed in the east end of Winter Springs Blvd. It was kindly donated by our Tuscawilla Home Owners Association. We can also thank the THOA for the beautiful decoration for our entrances for this Christmas. If you are wondering what is going on with the development next to the tennis courts, wonder no longer! That area is being sold as an entire lot and the new developer will be making plans for new designs. If you see the sprinklers going on for a long time or a light that is not working please call the city to advise. Information and updates on our meetings will be included in this website on a quarterly basis.
